Privacy Policy

We are taking your privacy seriously and try not to collect information unless it provides real benefits for the current or future user experience.

What personal information is collected?

In the publicly accessible part of Jovise we do not collect personal information as defined in the Children's Online Privacy Rule ("COPPA") or personal information as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

How do we use cookies?

In the publicly accessible part of Jovise we do not use cookies.

What other information is collected?

In the publicly accessible part of Jovise the following other information is collected: For every submitted answer of a quiz question in a quiz or a chatbot session, we store the quiz or chat session it is part of, the time of submission and if the answer was correct or not. For multiple choice questions we store which of the given answers were selected. For every chatbot session, we store all computer generated chatbot messages together with a timestamp of their creation. We do not store the chat messages submitted by the users. However, part of these user submitted messages can be reflected in the computer generated chatbot messages that were created in response to the user submitted chat messages. The user agrees to never submit any personal information to the chatbot. For every day we collect in an aggregated format over all users of Jovise which parts of the site were visited how often and whether GET or POST requests were being used. We also collect other statistics in an aggregated form, like how many questions were being answered on any given day.

Why is the information collected?

We collect the information to be able to decide which questions to ask you next in a quiz, how to respond in a chatbot session and to determine when a quiz has finished or when to display messages to a user. The information is also used by us to analyze and ensure the proper functioning of our site and to possibly improve it going forward.

How is information collected?

The information is collected when quiz question answers or chat messages are being submitted or when you visit pages of our site.

Who will have access to the information?

We have access to this information to enable us to run and improve the website, to ensure the proper functioning of our site and to comply with all applicable laws. It is not shared with third parties unless we are legally required to do so or unless we need to do so to operate our website. We will not share information with a third party for the third parties' direct marketing purposes. The information might be stored in the cloud or on servers or other devices that we do not physically own or control and that provide an additional security risk and risk that the third party that is hosting these services or servers is legally required to give somebody else access to this data.

How long will we retain the information we collect?

We will retain the information until we do not need it anymore. We might also decide to delete the information at any time.

What choices do you have?

You have the choice not to answer any quiz questions and the choice not to submit chat messages to avoid that data associated with these actions is being collected.

Does a "Do Not Track" signal have any effect?

No. As a default, we do not collect personal identifiable information about an individual consumer's online activities over time and across third-party Web sites or online services.
